Fast bowling greats Waseem Akram and Waqar Yunus slammed Pakistan cricket A panel for sharing clips from the dressing room on social media. PCB’s social media is one of the most active social media as compared to other cricket teams in sharing videos, interviews and other events including spirited conversations inside the locker room.

PCB published a video of Babar Azam’s speech after the defeat to India In the first match of T20 Globalism The cup then also shared videos of Babar and mentor Matthew Hayden giving heartfelt conversations with the other players in the dressing room shortly after the team qualified for the semi-finals on Sunday.

Akram and Younes felt that everything that happened inside the locker room should be kept secret and not shed light on the world.

Akram said on the A . website Sports Channel.

“It’s good to allow fans to interact with their favorite players through social media, but it gets a lot more.

“I don’t think I’ve seen any other team go this far in the World Cup or before. I can understand wanting to get more followers and get views but that’s too much.”

Interestingly, when Pakistan lost to Zimbabwe and was struggling for a place in the World Cup semi-finals, the PCB’s social media unit fell silent even the president preferred to remain silent.

But once Pakistan reached the semi-finals after beating Bangladesh, PCB resumed releasing videos of the players including travel notes, impassioned talks and interviews on social media even with Chairman Ramiz Raja tweeting.

Akram said that these video recordings taking place inside and outside the dressing room are distracting to the players.

“There are recordings happening all the time. Imagine if I was sitting and I didn’t know someone was recording – a message I want to give to my team,” he said.

Yunus also endorsed Akram’s views and noted that Pakistani cricket has suffered in the past because it has a history of leaking locker room information and leaked accidents.

“I agree one hundred percent with what Wasim said. Everything that happens inside the dressing room, has to stay there,” he said.

“This is a problem not only now but also early on when a lot of information was leaked to the media – people used to shout, argue and fight. Now you yourself are recording and showing the events from the locker room to the world.”
