The “Bavarians” controlled from the very beginning of the match, but could not damage the well-positioned Schalke defense in the early stages.
Bayern eventually tried their luck with long-range efforts, but neither Kingsley Coman nor Leroy Sane could beat Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Schollow from distance, reports Xinhua.
Schalke almost surprised Bayern with the first goal in the 24th minute, but Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was on guard and nullified Marius Polter’s attempt from a narrow angle after a counterattack.
The German record holders gained momentum and created more chances through Gnabry, whose shot was saved by Tom Krause on the line, and Choupo-Moting, who headed home at the half-hour mark.
The visitors finally broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Jamal Musiala’s backheel allowed Gnabry to volley into the far corner.
Bayern sealed the deal against Schalke 04 in the 52nd minute, as Musiala danced across the host country’s territory before coping with Choupo-Moting, who did nothing wrong and beat Schalue from inside the penalty area, making the score 2-0 on the scoreboards.
Julian Nagelsmann’s men continued their lead but were unable to add more goals to their lead as Musiala’s goal was offside while Gnabry, Benjamin Pavard and Ryan Gravenberch lacked precision from promising positions.
With their 10th straight win in all competitions, Bayern are heading into their FIFA World Cup break as Bundesliga leaders.
Bayern Munich coach Nagelsmann said: “If we continue to play as we did in the last matches, then everything is possible this year.”
Elsewhere, Leipzig moved into the top three after beating newly promoted Werder Bremen 2-1.
Bayer Leverkusen secured their third successive victory as goals from Moussa Diaby and Jonathan Tah beat VfB Stuttgart 2-0.
Hoffenheim suffered their third consecutive defeat as Wolfsburg secured four wins in the same number of games with a 2-1 victory on the road.
Bochum, threatened with relegation, defeated Augsburg 1-0, and Hertha Berlin scored important points 2-0 over Cologne.
