Cryptocurrency rate today: The global cryptocurrency market, despite its overall rise for the week, fell slightly on Saturday, July 18, even as it held the trillion-dollar mark. This was due to the overall loss suffered by major cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Dogecoin. The cryptocurrency market cap reached $1.05 trillion per day, which is a 0.83 percent drop over the past 24 hours.

“Although the week started on a somewhat bearish note, the momentum rebounded significantly in the middle of the week, sending most cryptocurrencies higher,” said Edul Patel, CEO and co-founder of Mudrex.

Today’s bitcoin price is down 1.06 percent in the past 24 hours to stand at $22,896.23 according to data from CoinMarketCap at the time of writing, with traders bearing the brunt of Tesla selling 75 percent of its cryptocurrency holdings. However, sentiment toward bitcoin has improved further and reached its highest level since April of this year, analysts said earlier this week.

“Bitcoin rose from $20,000 on Monday to over $23,000 on Friday. Although the cryptocurrency slipped a bit after Tesla announced that it had sold 75 percent of its BTC holdings, the cryptocurrency tried to keep up with the selling pressure from the bears. If the bulls can make a move, one can expect BTC to trade at the $24,000 mark soon,” Patel said.

Ethereum is down on the day as well, not being able to hold the $1600 mark it hit earlier in the week. Data from CoinMarketCap showed that the price of Ether today at the time of writing was $1,580.16, down 0.63 percent in the past 24 hours. However, Ether has gained more than 30 percent in the past seven days, according to the data.

“While Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency, has outperformed the market with a steady rally in the past seven days. ETH has gained nearly 34 percent in the past seven days after the date of the merger was announced. If gains are kept consistent, we could see ETH regain The $2,000 level next week,” Patel noted.
