The now 31-year-old has been retained by Chennai Super Kings for ₹1 crore ahead of the next season’s IPL run.

New Zealand wicket-keeper Devon Conway will again feature in the Chennai Super Kings jersey in next season’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Ahead of Conway’s return to the franchise based tournament, the Kiwis were recently spotted sporting a Chennai Super Kings MS Dhoni jersey. Conway was seen smiling while holding the iconic number seven shirt during the third ODI, which was interrupted by rain India and New Zealand in Christchurch on Wednesday. The photo was shared on Instagram by the official fan club of Chennai Super Kings- Whistlepodu Army. Read the caption of the post “Everywhere we go”.

Kiwi batter made his IPL debut while playing for the Chennai Super Kings series in Season 15. Conway played seven matches in the last edition of the IPL and scored 252 runs at a strike rate of 145.66. He has also achieved three half-centuries in IPL 2022. Conway scored his highest score – 87, during a match against Delhi Capitals on 8 May. However, Conway was unable to appear in all IPL games due to his wedding.

Southpaw recently participated in the T20I series against India and scored 84 runs in the series. He played an impressive knock of 59 off 49 balls in the final T20I against Hardik Pandya’s team. In the three-match ODI series against India, Conway made 62 runs.

The now 31-year-old has been retained by Chennai Super Kings for ₹1 crore ahead of the next season’s IPL run. And with the IPL set to bring back its old away-from-home format from next season, Chennai Super Kings fans can expect to witness a devastating Kiwi performance at their home ground – M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.

Overall, the Chennai Super Kings franchise has so far reserved 14 players ahead of the mini-IPL 2023 auction. They currently have Rs 20.45 crore left in the purse ahead of the auction.

Chennai aims to lift the prestigious IPL trophy for the fifth time under Dhoni. The all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, has led the franchise in IPL 2022 but has failed to do anything impressive in his new role. As a result, Jadeja had to step down as the Chennai Super Kings captain halfway through the season and Dhoni was reinstated as the team captain.
