Elon Musk’s Twitter is moving ahead with a massive global launch plan. Twitter has literally closed its offices and suspended all employees’ badges until a decision is made on whether the employee is fired or retained. The scale is so massive that employees who aren’t fired will get “a notification via their Twitter email.” Those who have been kicked out will receive an email at their personal email ID. The decision will be made by Friday and all employees will receive an email by “9AM PT Friday, November 4th.”

Elon Musk is said to be working with close colleagues at Tesla and SpaceX to structure layoff plans. 3,738 Twitter employees could be laid off. Twitter employees were notified in an email seen by The New York Times that layoffs would begin Friday and were instructed not to come to work that day. The total number of layoffs the company was considering was not mentioned in the email.

Team,
In an effort to put Twitter on a healthy track, we will go through the difficult process of reducing our global workforce on Friday. We are aware that this will affect a number of individuals who have made valuable contributions to Twitter, but this action is unfortunately necessary to ensure the company’s success going forward.
Due to the nature of our distributed workforce and our desire to inform affected individuals as quickly as possible, communications for this process will be via email. By 9 a.m. PT on Friday, November 4, everyone will receive an individual email with the subject line: Your Twitter turn.
Please check your email, including your spam folder.
If your job is not affected, you will receive a notification via your Twitter email.
