McDonald’s France starts reusable packaging to reduce waste, Twitter reacts
Fast food chains have revolutionized the way we eat. Order a takeaway, get it packed and finished in no time. However, this whole process generates a lot of waste that is harmful to the environment and the planet as well. Single-use plastic straws, small cardboard boxes, and more are used to serve junk food to millions of people all over the world. What if there was a way to save on this generation of waste with a simple solution? McDonald’s burger chain comes with reusable packaging for its customers in France. Absolutely love the design of this reusable packaging that it’s presented in McDonald’s France, he wrote in his tweet. In the flick we couldn’t see plastic or cardboard packaging in the meal. Instead, the cola drink was served in reusable plastic cups. Even French fries and potato wedges are housed in a small plastic container that is reusable and doesn’t have to be thrown away.
The user’s tweet went viral and got more than 381k likes and 23k retweets. Many people liked the design and concept of reusable packaging at McDonald’s France, and the fact that it understated hangover In a fast food restaurant. “I’m stealing this,” one user wrote, while another said, “This would be more environmentally impactful than just using cardboard!” Others felt that the reusable packaging would not be cleaned properly and might cause hygiene issues.

according to Report By News In France, a new law in the country will ban single-use cutlery in fast food establishments. A McDonald’s spokesperson said in the report that these reusable packaging will reduce waste generated by the restaurant by up to 40%. “We have tried many solutions, and we think we have found the one that works best with reusable cutlery. But it remains to regulate the ubiquitousness of France. We would prefer to communicate at a national level once it is operational,” he said in the report.
