Netflix recently came out with horror and mystery series 1899.
Set in 1899, at the turn of the new century, the series follows a group of European immigrants who travel from London on a steamship called the Kerberos to start a new life in New York City.
However, the journey takes a dark turn when the passengers meet the Prometheus, another immigrant ship said to have been lost at sea. Their journey is turned upside down when the group discovers the history of Prometheus and how it relates to their past.
The show features a diverse group of actors amidst its passengers on a mysterious 19th century ocean voyage. Since the cast is filled with well-known names from different countries, they all speak their native languages.

Emily Beecham as Maura Franklin
Maura Franklin is the first female doctor in the UK and is keen to work as a neurologist in the US.
Aneurin Barnard as Daniel Solace
A mysterious member of the group who keeps his identity and ideas to himself.
Andreas Pietschmann as Ike Larsen
Ike is the ship’s captain and was responsible for changing the ship’s course after seeing a distress signal from Prometheus.
Miguel Bernardo as Angel
Angel is a wealthy Spaniard who prioritizes his own ambitions over everything else. His brother Ramiro, who is a priest, accompanies him.
Jose Pimento as Ramiro
Angel’s brother originally appears as a cowardly priest but there is more to his story.
Isabella Wei as Ling Yi
Ling Yi is a teenager who often dresses as a geisha (Japanese performance artist).
Gabe Wong as Yok Ji
Yuk Ji accompanies Ling Yi on the trip as her maid.
Mathilde Olivier as Clemence
Newlyweds from France looking to start a new life with husband Lucien in New York.
Jonas Bloquet as Lucien
Married to Clémence, Lucien is not thrilled to be with his new wife but continues the journey any way he can.
Jan Gael as Jerome
Jerome does his best to remain unnoticed. However, he couldn’t help but be interested in the dynamic of Clémence and Lucien as a couple.
Clara Rosager as Tove
Tove is the older, more outspoken brother of a religious Danish family on the ship. She is pregnant and travels to New York in hopes of a better future.

Eben is the matriarch of the Danish family and is a firm believer.

Anker is the head of the family, and he is loyal to his faith like his wife, Ibn.

Tove’s younger brother, Christer, is very protective of his family.
Rosalie Craig as Virginia
Virginia is a British socialite who travels to New York on her own.
Maciej Musial as Olek
Olek is a coal boy from Poland who works tirelessly on the ship. During his spare time, he forms bonds with other outcasts on the plane.
Flynn Edwards as Elliot (The Boy)
The silent and mysterious boy who later befriends Maura.
