Mumbai lived up to its reputation during the league stage as it took the lead after winning nine out of 14 league matches. Rohit’s team followed up with a 57-time victory over the Delhi Capitals in their first semi-final. Playing the finals against the same team, MI put in an all-around performance to add another feather to their illustrious IPL trajectory.

Picking the racket first, Shreyas Iyer Delhi scored 156 times on the scoreboard. The franchise succumbed to a dismal start as they quickly lost their first three wickets. However, the captain drove from the front and played a superb hit of 65 throws to save his team from a crisis.

Iyer found an ally in wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant who hit 56 shots from just 38 balls including four limits and two maximums. Meanwhile, Trent Bolt was the leading actor from the Mumbai band. Bolt picked up a distance of three wickets to shake the opposition.
Chasing 157 in Dubai was not much of a problem for the Mumbai Indians and they efficiently completed the target within 18.4. For Mumbai too, it was Captain Rohit who gave the lead performance. He ended up with the opening hit as the top scorer with 68 hits from 51 balls. Meanwhile, Ishaan Kishan applied the finishing touch by playing a 19-ball 36 strike.
