Jasprit Bumrah has been sidelined since September with a back injury. The Indian legend was left out of the T20 Globalism trophy after he failed to regain his fitness in the allotted time. Bumrah has now provided a major update on the status of his injury. The Gujarat-born player shared a video of his intense training session on Friday. In the footage, Bumrah can be seen working hard at an indoor training facility.

“It’s never easy, but it’s always worth it,” Bumrah wrote in the caption.

2022 was not a memorable year for Boomerah. Earlier in August, Bumrah was diagnosed with a stress reaction. However, he failed to participate in the Asian Cup later that month. Bumrah was subsequently deemed fit for the T20 World Cup. He even participated in the T20 series against Australia prior to the World Cup. Bumrah played two matches against Australia in the T20Is but was again ruled out of the following series against South Africa due to a sore back.

Bumrah later underwent rehabilitation at the National cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru but that wasn’t enough to make her fully fit for the T20 World Cup.

In Bumrah’s absence, Indian bowling has struggled a lot in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. India’s journey to the Asian Cup ended at the Super Four stage. India’s poor bowling at the death became a major concern for the team’s management during the Continental Championship. In all fairness, the Indian bowling lacked leadership and never showed deadly enough to lift the trophy.

A similar story happened during the T20 World Cup. Team India They had the experience of players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohd Shami in the pace unit but could hardly fill Bumrah’s shoes. As a result, India could not even pick up a wicket in the high-effort semi-final match against England and exited the grand event after suffering a humiliating 10-wicket defeat at the hands of eventual champions England.

In international cricket, Bumrah was last seen playing against Australia during the Third T20I in September. The 28-year-old completed four overs in the game but failed to pick up a wicket after conceding 50 runs.
