Pat Cummins, the Australian Prime Minister, has withdrawn from the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Cummins, signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 7.25 crore at the massive IPL 2022 auction, has decided to bypass the cash-rich league to manage its workload ahead of Ashes and ODI Globalism next year’s cup.
“I’ve made a tough decision to miss the IPL for the coming years. The international schedule is full of Tests and ODIs for the next 12 months, so you’ll be taking a break before the Ashes Series and the World Cup,” Cummins posted on Twitter.

However, Cummins also hinted that it’s not the end of the story for him for KKR in the IPL as he wants to return to the franchise after next season.

The Prime Minister was recently named ODI captain for the Australian national team after Aaron Finch announced his retirement from the over-50 squad. The 29-year-old from New South Wales will lead the team in their first international match against England in November.

The 29-year-old becomes Australia’s captain on day 27 and the first fast-paced player to take the role after admiring his first year as a Test captain.
