Pakistan has written a fairy tale success story in the ongoing T20 Globalism 2022 Cup. On Wednesday, they beat New Zealand by seven wickets in their first semi-final of the tournament, reaching the Grand Final for the first time since 2009, which happened to be the T20 World Cup final in 15 years.
Babar Azam & Co. have an amazing story to tell when it comes to qualifying for the semi-finals. They were completely written off after consecutive losses – vs. India and Zimbabwe – in the 12th round of the tournament. However, the stunning defeat of South Africa gave them another chance to shine and thus, they became the first team to qualify for the final.
Pakistan dominated the match from the start. They influenced New Zealand’s hit by knocking out Finn Alina and Devon Conway within the powerplay. The damage was so severe that Williamson & Co could never get out of it despite Daryl Mitchell scoring a 50. The Black Hat contained a 152/4 total which Babar & Sons chased away easily.
