Pakistan, Karachi, December 1, 2022: YouTube has released lists of Top Trending Videos, Top Music Videos, Top Creators, Cool Creators, and Top Short Films for Pakistan of 2022. The range of content that kept them entertained all year long
Farhan S. said: Qureshi, Regional Director at Google: “YouTube has helped create an ecosystem in Pakistan that allows people to pursue their passions as full-time jobs while also enabling them to financially support their families.”
“Pakistan has more than 5,400 YouTube channels with more than 100,000 subscribers, and more than 350 of them have more than 1 million subscribers. It is also exciting to see that the number of Pakistani YouTube channels generating one million or more revenue (PKR) has increased by more than 110 percent in a year.”
Qureshi continued, “This year, we had some amazing content creators who topped our charts in various categories and captured the hearts of regular YouTubers with their wide range of content and creativity.”
In 2022, we saw a variety of videos that were the most popular in the country, dominated by the Pakistani drama and film industry. Telefilm ‘RUPOSH’ on a young couple embarking on a journey of love and marriage took the top spot in the list of most trending videos followed by the first episode of popular Pakistani dramas Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi’s and Sang-e-Mah’s. This year in Pakistan, funny, entertaining and creative short films resonated well with the Pakistani audience. In 2022, the list reflects the continuing popularity of different types of content. “The power tool race is intense!!” ’, ‘Meri bhen Meri jaan Meri kanwal, Ye kya hogaya Roman khan #Shorts’, fed up | #Shorts and Babi Ki Chalky – Revenge #Shorts were the top five shorts of 2022. For the top music list, the year 2022 is set by the success of Coke Studio Pakistan. Unsurprisingly, Ali Sethi and Shay Gill’s song “Pasoori” topped the chart and has over 450 million views on YouTube. Coke Studio’s famous Sufi song “Tu Jhoom” took second place, while “BAMB AAGYA” by Jor Sidhu took third place.
