Kolkata Knight Riders have signed Chardol Thakur in a deal for Aman Khan with Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Chardol, who has been part of India’s white ball squad for the past two years, has been brought on board by Delhi Capitals for INR 10.75 crore in TATA IPL Auction 2022. He had a decent season taking 15 wickets and scoring 120 runs while batting in the lower order as he played a few crucial strokes to rescue his team from sticky situations.
Meanwhile, Aman Khan is a young Indian all-rounder and has played only one IPL match so far where he has remained wicketless and scored 5 runs. KKR signed them for INR 20 lakh last season.
Shardul Thakur has been traded from Delhi Capitals to Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming TATA IPL 2023. KKR is the sixth different IPL franchise that Thakur will be a part of. Besides DC, the likes of CSK Thakur, PBKS, Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants.
He is the third player KKR has acquired since the trading window opened.
Duo Lucky Ferguson and Rehmanullah Gurbaz earlier joined the franchise after a full cash deal with Gujarat Titans.
Earlier, KKR appointed Chandrakant Pandit as their head coach. KKR parted ways with Brendon McCullum after last season as the former New Zealand wicket-keeper took over as head coach of England’s Test team.
