Former South African captain Faf de Plessis released his autobiography, “Faf: Through Fire” on October 28. Former Faf Fellow in IPL and India Veteran Suresh Raina has joined the list of cricketers who congratulated him on his new book. Raina and Faf share a great bond since their time playing together for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. On Friday, Raina shared a Faf book photo on Twitter and congratulated the former Proteas captain. “Can’t wait to read the book, brother. I wish you lots of success in the future,” Raina tweeted.

Prior to the launch of his book, Pfaff shared an encouraging message on Twitter where he stated that his life has always been a closed book and that he did not share his experience with people outside his network. However, he stated that his fans will now be able to see his life through this biography.

Through his book, Pfaff claims to be exploring his past and trying to reveal aspects of himself that most people in his position would prefer to hide. In the book he talks about being an insensitive partner, a jealous friend, and an insecure adult. He shows parts of himself that many, familiar with the image-conscious man who cares about the image on the front cover, have not seen before.
Much of the book is a chronological summary of his career and is presented without the use of scorecards or match reports. In the book, he also highlighted his relationships with South African men such as Mark Boucher and Graeme Smith.
Speaking of his career, Pfaff de Plessis has emerged as one of the most consistent South African players in the post-Jacques Calese era. Often described as a balanced and elegant two-stroke player, the 38-year-old has all the shots in his book. His moody temper combined with his bravery made him a great player in all three forms. He was appointed captain of the South African T20 team in February 2013 and has also been a vital cog in the Proteas team.
Pfaff pulled the curtains on his demo career in 2021 but continues to play shorter forms of the game around the world. Not named in the South African squad for the ICC T20 Globalism Glass. However, dynamic batting has been a sensation in the Indian Premier League. He was a reliable presence at the Chennai Super Kings bunker and was instrumental in the victories of the Mahindra Singh Dhoni team. Faf was linked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2021 edition of the IPL and is currently the franchise leader in the cash-rich league.
