England captain Joss Butler would be proud if his men could win the T20 Globalism The cup final against Pakistan on Sunday and he urged their football counterparts to appear in Doha next month.

Batting champion Butler led his team to the top in his first world meeting as England captain.

When asked if the football team could take a card from the cricket team, the soft captain said: “Yes, I certainly hope so.” “Sport is a huge part of English culture, and being behind teams at the World Cup is definitely something I know happens a lot in England.

“Even though we’re on the other side of the world, you can definitely feel that support,” Butler said on the eve of the final against Pakistan.

England meet Iran, Wales and the USA in Group B at the FIFA World Cup.

“The images you see of the Euro, obviously, nothing will compete with football in our country. Of course the match will be on free TV, which is great, and it will bring new eyes to the game,” said the goalkeeper.

Butler doesn’t feel people will be watching on the big screen in Trafalgar Square at 8am BST, but televisions will be on as there is a renewed interest in cricket following their 2019 World Cup win.

“We saw the benefit of that in 2019 with some pictures of people watching that match and Trafalgar Square full and other things.

“I’m not sure they’ll get up at 8:00 in the morning to get to Trafalgar Square, but I’m sure there will be plenty back home. Good luck, as we do with the other teams I mentioned have had some big games in front of themselves as well.”

Some Pakistanis will be great pacers of the future

Just like the veteran captain, Butler was lavish in his praise of the Pakistani people, calling them potential future greats.

“Pakistan is obviously a great team. I think they have a very long history of producing excellent fast bowlers.

“I am sure that by the end of their careers, some of the players we are going to play against will go down like some of the best bowlers that Pakistan has produced. That is a big part of why they reached the World Cup Final.”

Having played Pakistan in a series of seven matches away from home, Butler is aware of the challenges.

“We are expecting a really tough challenge, as we mentioned before. It is a team we have seen a lot in the recent past, we have had some great matches against them, we have played with great spirit and I am sure tomorrow will be no different.”

Butler is big on team gatherings as he tries to send some messages depending on the mood of the group.

“But the consistent message is always to move forward in the game. This is something we are proud of as a group. We must try and play with a level of freedom and allow ourselves to express the massive amounts of talent we have as a group.”
