On a nice Friday morning, with clear skies and shining sun, two young Indians took their first steps towards a great future in ODI cricket. One was Arshdeep Singh in Punjab (Cap 248), and the other was Imran Malik (Cap 249) from Jammu. Both are like dynamos at the powerhouse of fast bowling. The former is a left-handed magician while the latter is an example of a lightning bolt. They had the opportunity to open the Indian bowling attack against a full-strength New Zealand, captained by Kane Williamson. But that was not the case on Men in Blue’s day as the hosts won the match by seven wickets, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Imran was one of the twinkling stars in the gray Indian sky that twinkled admirably. His thrilling speed would surely have sent endless chills to the kiwi bats as he was simply playing with the speed gun. Starting at 149.1kph, he touched every great figure and set his personal best at 153.1kph. While he enjoyed speed in tow, the evictions of Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell were the icing on the cake.

The latter part of the game was not very interesting for Indian cricket fans but the match between Imran and Kane Williamson was a treat to watch. One interesting example was the first delivery of 20The tenth Above, a short squared ball to the Black Cap captain who had no other choice but to defend it. Williamson decided. Since there was no slip in place, he escaped, but his expression spoke of the fire on that receipt.

Back in Jammu, the entire Imran family was glued to the TV screen watching their children play for the country. His father, Abdul Rashid, was proud of this moment and explained to his mother that this foreign player was the captain of his son’s team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

I told his mother that Imran was bringing him up [Williamson] In the net and now they are facing each other. Aage ustaad hai toh pichhe chela (Confrontation between master and student). Rashid said in an exclusive chat with News18 Cricketnext.

Imran was fortunate enough to debut in two out of three formats in the same calendar. His pace has always made him look special on the list of rising talents in the country. But still, he missed out on a place in India’s T20 Globalism Trophy team. But his father is not worried about it. He, in fact, believes that whatever is written in one’s destiny is bound to happen.

Dekhiye janab… Log keh rahe the na, ki world cup nahi khela, lekin hum kehte hai ki achha hua jo nahi khela. Joe Gap here, Rehata Hai Wahi Hota Hai! (People were saying he couldn’t be selected for the World Cup. We think it’s great he didn’t make it. Things happen in the right time for them.

“You don’t need to rush into anything. A child is in the learning phase. He shares the dressing room with the experienced. He will go there and learn from them. You don’t need to hurry.” The great players who are already there, are doing well while the others get the chance, Omran’s father added after they notice.”

Being the father of a budding cricketer, Rashid also has a knack for social media and he is well aware of the fact that his son has been trending with Sanju Samson that both should be given a chance. On Friday, when they appeared in the Playing XI, the Malik family was thrilled to see.

“It was important for him to play in ODIs and he debuted well. The Almighty supported him and so did the entire nation. Sabka kehna tha ki Imran Malik Aur Sanju Samson Ko Khilao Rashid added, “People were talking about including Imran and Sanju Samson in the team. It happened today and we were relieved.”

Unlike every day, Rashid, who runs a fruit and vegetable shop, does not go to work on Friday. He stayed home to watch his son’s first match, and in the meantime, the neighbors who arrived at Imran’s house came to offer their warm wishes.

“Our kid is playing for the country. What can we ask for? The whole world is watching him. It was his start and we are so happy for him.” India We should have won the game but don’t worry, we will win the next game.”
