Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has reacted sharply to the “Twitter battle” between cricket fans from both countries.
While speaking on A Sports’ cricket show, Akram asked cricket fans to both India and Pakistan to show maturity rather than add salt to each other’s wounds.
“We have to stay neutral. Indians are patriotic about their country, and I’m fine about that. We’re patriotic about ours. But instead, jalti pe tel daalna, tweet pe tweet karna“Don’t do that, man,” Akram was quoted as saying on The Pavilion.
Former Pakistani captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who is also a panellist on The Pavilion, endorsed Wasim Akram’s views.

Misbah opined that Indian and Pakistani fans should not indulge in such vicious fights just to get famous on social media. “You shouldn’t do this just for a few likes. Cricketers, be it from India, Pakistan or any other country, we are all family. So, we should respect each other and give our opinions with respect. We also have a certain responsibility.”
Jos Butler’s England lifted their second T20 World Cup title, thanks to some disciplined bowling and a battling half-century by Ben Stokes.
Batting first, Pakistan failed to get a solid total on the board as they were restricted to just 137 from their 20 overs.
Despite the low total, the Pakistani bowlers put up a fierce fight to put the England team under pressure.
However, Shaheen Afridi’s failure to complete his four-over quota due to injury and a low total made things easy for England as they became the first men’s team to hold both world titles – ODI and T20I – simultaneously.
