After suffering a humiliating defeat in the opening match of the I-League, Srindhi Deccan will be taking a trip to Goa at the weekend to face the Churchill Brothers. On Sunday, the two clubs will battle it out going into the GMC Athletic Stadium for their first win of the season.
Churchill looked far from convincing in his debut match against Rajasthan United. The red team conceded the only goal in a match in which both teams played cautiously. They didn’t respond well after touchdowns and lacked the urgency to get the equaliser. Coach Antonio Rueda had better prepared his team for their next mission against Deccan.
Meanwhile, Sreenidi Deccan had a dreadful outing against RoundGlass Punjab. On Monday, Carlos Vaz Pinto’s men were defeated 2-1 by the Punjab side. They had several tense moments behind, two of which ended at the back of the grid. Shahbaz Khan pulled one back for Srinidhi in the 58th minute but it was in vain as they went home without a point.
Both sides will be looking to get all guns blazing back on Sunday in search of their first win in the I-League. Let’s wait and see who comes out on top.
