Preparations have already begun for the next season of the Indian Premier League with the mini-auction likely to take place next month. Teams have already started making changes to support staff while some have taken steps to players ahead of the auction. The two teams added last year in the IPL – Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants resulted in a huge auction but that won’t be the case this time. It will be a small auction where teams can keep a majority of the players they want.

Supervisory Board for cricket in India (BCCI) has already set a November 15 deadline for franchises to send the final list of retained players. This time, each team can hold up to 15 players and have to release the remaining ten. However, last year the team size was set to a maximum of 25 players while the minimum number of players in a team was 18.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-player auction is likely to take place on December 23 in Kochi. However, an official announcement has not yet been made. According to ESPN Cricinfo, the auction will be for one day and will take place in Kochi.

However, several teams have already made some big moves in the trading window to strengthen their squad.

Below is a list of players who have found new teams ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction.

Jason Behrendorf: The Mumbai Indians have signed Australian bowler Jason Behrendorff of Royal Challengers Bangalore in a commercial deal ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. Behrendorff joined RCB last season for its base price of INR 75 lakh. Berendorf has previously represented Chennai Super Kings in 2021, Mumbai Indians in 2018, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022.

Luke Ferguson: The Kiwi pacer is back for the Kolkata Knight Riders as they sign it from defending champion Gujarat Titans ahead of the mini-auction. Ferguson played a pivotal role in his IPL 2022 title-winning campaign as he picked 12 scalps in 13 matches. So far he has played 35 IPL matches in which he has taken 36 wickets.

Rahmanullah Qorbaz: Apart from Ferguson, Kolkata also signed Abdul Rahman Allah Gurbaz Afghani from Gujarat to strengthen the fighting regime. Gurbaz was signed as Jason Roy’s replacement by the Gujarat Titans but did not get the chance to debut.
