Be it badminton or cricket, or hockey, table tennis and boxing. India has provided special moments for the public in most of the sports. Almost every month in 2022 at the international level, Indian athletes have hoisted the country’s flag and crowned a new champion on the podium. Neeraj Chopra’s Zodiac History:

India’s Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra hoisted the country’s flag in 2022 as well. Neeraj created history at the World Athletics Championships by bagging India’s first medal in a track and field event since 2003 (long jump, Anju Bobby George). Neeraj Chopra threw the javelin 88.13 meters and won the silver medal for India in this competition held in Eugene, USA in the month of July. Neeraj became the first Indian to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships in the shot put event.

Commonwealth Games 2022:

India’s performance at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in August was outstanding. Indian athletes won a total of 61 medals, including 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze, despite no shooting competition at the Commonwealth Games 2022. Thus, India stood fourth in the medal tally. India also won a medal in lawn ball for the first time in this Commonwealth Games.

Nikhat Zareen wins gold medal in World Boxing Championship:

2022 has been a wonderful year for Nikhat Zarin. She captured the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship by defeating Thailand’s Tokyo Olympian Jatpang Jatams 0-5 in the final. After that he also won gold medal in Commonwealth Games 2022. Zarin ended the year on a strong note by winning gold at the Elite National Women’s Boxing Championship in December.

India Men’s Badminton Team Money History:

The Indian men’s badminton team, led by young player Lakshya Sen, created history by winning the Thomas Cup for the first time in Bangkok at Thomas Cup 2022. India beat 14-time champions Indonesia 0-3 in the final of the Thomas Cup. India participated in the tournament for the 13th time but had never reached the semi-finals before. Manika Batra’s Zodiac History:

Star Indian table tennis player Manika Batra created a new history by winning the bronze medal in the ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup tournament. She became the first Indian woman paddler to win a medal in this tournament. She won the bronze medal match against world number 6 and three-time Asian champion Hina Hayata 2-4.

Best Performance of Women’s Cricket Team:

2022 has been a memorable year for the Indian women’s cricket team. Three major Indian women’s cricket tournaments (ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Women’s T20 Asia Cup) were played this year. In these three events, the women’s cricket team won the Commonwealth Games silver medal and the Women’s T20 Asia Cup title for the seventh time in a row.

India’s star batsman Virat Kohli completed his long-standing 71st century against Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2022. Virat Kohli ended his century drought in international cricket.
