Earlier, Rashid, with his massive efforts, showed time and time again how the Indian team management misread its script by allowing Yuzvendra Chahal to quietly heel his heels throughout the tournament. The MCG track had enough bounce and speed but Butler’s top-performing bowling duo (Curran and Rashid) did just the opposite.
Rashid flew and lowered his speed to 75 km/h while Curran sped between 126 km/h to 130 km/h making it difficult to score goals for the Pakistani hitter. Both Babar Azam (32 of 28 balls) and Mohamed Radwan (15 of 14) started on a cautious note as they have been doing for the past year.
Curran, England’s most consistent bowler of the tournament, made a cross-corner with more length and Radwan didn’t have enough width to lead as he pulls that back into the stumps. Muhammad Haris (8 of 12), finding the championship for Pakistan, struggled overall before Rashid ended his misery.
He made one trip and tempted Harris to charge into the track, but he was too close to the delivery point and was in hiding for a long time.
