Suryakumar Yadav starred against New Zealand in the second T20I of the three match series at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. His unbeaten knockout of 111 hit him out of 51 India to 191/6 in 20 overs.

SKY was at his best getting his last 50 runs in just 17 balls. He studded his knocks with 11 fours and seven sixes. It was a great display of batting as Yadav did not miss any part of the ground during his big shots.

In the penultimate, Yadav brought on the disappointment of Lucky Ferguson as the Indian wimp hit four boundaries and a stunning six over a deep point. The fast bowler had clearly run out of ideas as Surya was unstoppable.

After scoring his second T20 hundred, Yadav said he kept things “simple” but his fans had very different reactions, here’s a look at a few of them.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand won the toss and chose to play against India. Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant opened for the men in blue but on the same powerplay Pant returned to the wing, scoring just 6 from 13.

Yadav then came in at number three in the absence of Virat Kohli and made his intentions clear from the start as he smashed boundaries and sixes with his will. Furthermore, the rain played spoiler for a little while in between, but after the game resumed, it was SKY’s magic again. Ishan Kishan left for 36 from 31 while Shreyas Iyer gave his wicket in a strange way – Hitwicket.

Yadav then sat in the driving seat and shifted into fifth gear while continuing to smash the ball across the boundary line. In the last five overs, India has made 72 runs, all thanks to Yadav. However, the latter end turned out to be quite exciting as Yadav remained at the non-striking end the entire time. But, it’s not like he did the Tim Southee trilogy. Washington denied Sundar, Deepak Hooda and Hardik Pandya on the trot.

It’s a goal of 192 runs for the Black Caps, will they be able to chase it or not, that’s what the game has to offer now.
