“The scans were discussed between the PCB’s chief medical officer, Dr Najibullah Soomro, and Australian knee specialist, Dr Peter D. Alessandro, and it was reassuring to know that there was no injury. “The quick player on his left arm is feeling better and is in high spirits,” the council said in the statement.
Afridi will undergo a rehabilitation and conditioning program designed to strengthen his knee at the National High Performance Center a few days after his return to Pakistan.
The statement said his return to international cricket would be subject to the champion’s successful completion of a rehabilitation program and after approval by the medical staff.

Earlier, a former PCB medical official told local media that “the road ahead for Afridi may be in danger if proper precautions are not taken”.
In July of this year, the left arm orthosis injured his knee ligaments, and after undergoing extensive rehabilitation, the 22-year-old is believed to have made a full recovery. However, Sunday’s injury is believed to be a repeat of that injury. This led to the belief that if Afridi’s case was not carefully followed, his career could be in jeopardy.
“If the injury does not lead to more injuries, it will take Shaheen three to four months to recover. If the PCB medical board chooses to treat him through surgery, then Shaheen will be out for six or seven months,” PCB chief medical officer Dr. Sohail Salem told Dawn. .
