The name of lighting the candle of obedience and servitude to Allah in the dark hearts through morality, love and peace is Chishtiyyah- Some regions of India were illuminated by the light of Islam in the first century of Hijri. But the opportunity to get acquainted with the practical form of Muhammadan ethics with all its geographical limits came from the Sultan of India Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Quds Sira after Dataganj Bakhsh Hazrat Ali Hajuveri.

Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti was the luminary of a scholarly and spiritual family. Both your grandfather’s and grandmother’s families were leaders in piety, purity and piety. On top of that, you were related to the lineage of Prophet Sayyida Fatima, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, from both sides. That is, you were Najeeb Tarfeen Syed. Husani from mother Syeda Umm Al Wara Mah Noor and Hussaini from father Syed Ghiyasuddin, this was your family lineage.

Birth and Death: Two words are found in the history of Khawaja Sahib’s birth. First: He was born in 530 AH, Second: He was born in 535 AH. While the date of death: 633 AH and 632 AH are found. According to Seer-ul-Arifin, it is found that Khawaja Sahib was 97 years old. From this point of view, if the death of Khawaja Sahib is believed to be 663 AH, then his birth date should be 536 AH and if his death is believed to be 632 AH, then the birth date is 535 AH. This difference of birth and death date is not a wonder, but it happens to every personality whose history is not compiled from the beginning. And it was the same with Khwaja Sahib. Sultan Ji Khwaja Nizamuddin Awliya’s collection of the collections Fawad al-Fawad, Khwaja Amir Khurd Kirmani’s book Seer Awaliya and Sheikh Jamali’s book Seer al-Arifin, in which only a few things have been mentioned very briefly. , all these books are later, but they also do not mention detailed situations.

Place of Birth: Khawaja Sahib was born in a place called Sistan near Herat. Sistan, which is called Sajistan in Arabic, and the Arabs call Sajzi, that is why Khwaja Sahib is called Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Sajzi. And in our India some people use the suffix Sanjri instead of Sajzi as a wrong people.

Education: Khawaja Sahib’s father, the venerable Syed Ghiyasuddin, was among the big businessmen and wealthy people, while he was also counted among the prominent scholars of his time. Therefore, along with his early education, Khawaja Sahib himself also memorized the Qur’an. It would have been a big decision for further education if nature had approved something else. However, when Khawaja Saheb was 15 years old, the shadow of his father, the elder, rose from his head. After that, not too many days passed that he lost his mother’s affection. As a result, your education was stopped.

After partition inheritance, a garden and a bore well came to your share. So you started keeping yourself busy in looking after him. But this series of gardeners could not last for long. One day, a scholar named Ibrahim Kunduzi came to your garden. On his arrival, he showed him great respect, showed him great hospitality and gave him a feast with the fruits of the garden, due to which Kunduzi Sahib was very happy. Before leaving, Kunduzi gave you something to chew, which you ate. Chroniclers write that as soon as he ate it, a strange condition came over him and the legacy of love and faith that he had received from his parents became twofold. Soon you sold everything and surrendered yourself to Allah.

The path of knowledge is the path of love from the beginning to the end, but if knowledge is not accompanied by the Book and the Sunnah, then a person becomes enamored, which deprives a large population of receiving blessings. Yes! If knowledge and love become equal, then light is light. For this reason, Khawaja Sahib, after selling the garden and the mill, gave preference to Tehsil knowledge and gained expertise in the popular sciences of simulation and logic by learning from the famous scholars and scholars of the centers of knowledge of Samarqand and Bukhara of that time.

According to the difference of date of birth, when he was 27 years old or 32 years old, he reached Baghdad for the first time in 562 AH in search of Murshid Kamil. Sheikh Abd al-Qadir Jilani, the famous scholar of Baghdad, passed away soon (the year of the Sheikh’s death was 561 AH. The Sheikh’s teaching school was in Baghdad, while at the same time, an elder from the town of Nissapur called Harwan / Haroon. Khawaja Usman Harwani/Harwani’s spirituality was also well known. In those days, Khawaja Harwani was living in Baghdad. Khawaja Sahib appeared in his bargah and pledged allegiance and dedicated himself to the service of Murshid Barhaq. After twenty years of day and night service and training, Kharqa was elevated to the Caliphate.

For the first time, Khwaja Sahib traveled to Hajj with his mentor Qader Khwaja Usman Haruni, where he was entrusted with the guardianship of India by the Holy Prophet. For the second time, he left for Hajj without a mentor and received an order from Bargah Risalat to travel to India. After completing Hajj and Pilgrimage, he arrived in Baghdad, where many eminent Mashaykhs received blessings from him. At the time of departure from Baghdad, his disciple Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki also accompanied him. He reached Lahore passing through Hamdan, Tabriz, Kharqan, Isfahan, Balkh and Ghazli and, according to a tradition, arrived in Ajmer with 40 dervishes via Delhi after visiting the holy shrine of Data Ganj Bakhsh Makhdoom Ali Hajveri. The time you came to Ajmer was the time of Raja Prithviraj Chauhan.

While coming to Delhi from Baghdad, Khawaja Sahib studied the culture of many countries and regions in depth. You yourself were a well-versed religious scholar. However, in view of the Islamic wisdom and breadth of thought, the inhabitants of this place were taken care of. You used to cure their pain, console them for their suffering and treat them with immense love and affection. So those people who were torn between caste, high and low and rich and poor gradually started getting closer to you. You displayed high moral qualities and with great wisdom started to illuminate their dark hearts with the candle of Tawheed.

It is said that one’s life should become pure in such a way that he should start showing compassion to everyone regardless of religion and nationality, look at everyone from the same point of view, love and enmity should not be devoid of justice, respect everyone, everyone May he be well-wisher of all with respect and dignity, everyone will have opportunities to be honored in his assembly and everyone will have direct access to him. A person becomes a buyer not only of body and soul, but also of religion and faith. Along with all these qualities, Khawaja Sahib was also a mirror of Tawheed Rabbani. However, as many people became closer to you, they became colored in your own color.

After him, his caliphs and the elders of his lineage also promoted the same tradition, which resulted in a large population of India soon being enlightened by the Light of Tawheed, and even today, wherever his preaching tradition remains, people follow the candle of Tawheed. Enlightening their dark hearts.

Khwaja Sahib had many famous caliphs, including his grandson Khwaja Fakhruddin Ahmad Chishti, whose shrine is located in Sarwar Sharif, 60 km away from Ajmer, but his spiritual successor Qutb-ul-Aqtab Khwaja Qutb-ud-Din. Bakhtiar became Kaki, followed by his caliph Baba Fariduddin Pak Patni, followed by Sultanji Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya and Sabir Pak Khwaja Alauddin Sabir Kaliri, followed by Sultanji Chirag Chisht Khwaja Nasiruddin Mahmood Dehlvi, followed by Banda. Nawaz Syed Muhammad Geesu Daraz Gulbarga and Makhdoom Jahanian Jahan Gesht by Syed Jalaluddin Bukhari and other Chishti Masaikhs, then this Shajar Touba brought such fruit that there is hardly any region or monastery in India where Chishti Faizan did not reach. It is a different matter which one is dominant here, but all are satisfied with Chishti Faiz.

In view of India’s colorfulness and its culture and social openness, if there is any large-scale method of dawah that can be effective here, it is only Chishtiyyah. Any method other than chastity may be useful and effective for a believer in his own right, but where is the thing that is in the head and body of chastity for another?

Khawaja Sahib’s message was love, he loved every human being and loved without any conditions. He had no hatred for anyone here and was not suspicious of anyone. He was everyone’s friend and was friendly with everyone. For the teachings of Khawaja Sahib, Sultanji’s collection of Al-Fawad al-Fawad, Amir Khurd Kirmani’s Seer Awaliya, Makhdoom Jahanian Jahan Gesht’s Treasure Jalali, Sheikh Saaduddin Khairabadi’s Majma Al Suluk and Makhdoom Jahan Sheikh Sharafuddin Ahmad Yahya Muniri’s correspondence. should do.

Khawaja Sahib passed away in Ajmer on 6/ Rajab, his grandson Khawaja Fakhruddin Ahmad Chishti performed the funeral prayer and he was buried there in Ajmer. That’s why every year on the same date, your Urs is organized in Ajmer Sharif, where pilgrims from all over the world, regardless of religion and nation, come to seek grace and blessings.
